A clock belongs to a place

Why a named time zone is more useful than a fixed offset.

An offset is a moment

An offset describes the difference from UTC at a particular moment. It does not describe every rule a place follows throughout the year. When arranging a call or recording an event, include the date and the place’s named time zone.

Let the calendar do its work

The clocks here use your browser’s time-zone database through the Intl API. This lets the browser apply the rules it knows for the selected place. Keep your device’s clock and software up to date; this page is a display, not an independent time service.

A meeting needs a date

A time without a date can become ambiguous when clocks change. Write the full date, name a city, and check what the other person sees. A clear invitation saves more effort than a clever mental conversion.
